Conferences & Networks

Since 2020, I have participated in specialised conferences and research networks to present and refine my research into art, spirituality and secular experience. These talks have allowed me to test the argument across different audiences: transpersonal psychology, spirituality studies, consciousness studies, arts-based research, science, medicine and the contemporary art world.

The conference page should show how the presentations evolved: from expanding the ontology of spirituality to include non-religious experiences in art and nature; to examining the contemporary artist as a possible shamanic or ritual figure; to refining the argument into art as a technology for spiritual experience. The page should also indicate the research communities addressed, including the Scientific and Medical Network, the International Network for the Study of Spirituality, Channel McGilchrist / McGilchrist-related contexts, and the London Arts-Based Research Centre.
